The Dart Center's 'Reporting Safely in Crisis Zones' course will take place October 24-27, 2019 at the Columbia Journalism School in New York City. The course is specifically for freelance journalists. Non-freelance journalists are not eligible to apply.

All program sessions are conducted in English. Participants must be fluent in spoken English to participate. The deadline to apply is June 24 at 5:00 pm ET.

With generous support from the James W. Foley Legacy Foundation, the Rory Peck Trust, and the ACOS Alliance, the Dart Center will be offering the course to 16 freelance journalists at no cost. Selected participants are responsible for all other costs including travel to/from New York, lodging, ground transportation and meals outside the course.
